In pursuing your dream of financial independence, you will find that some things will support you in this quest, and others by nature will be obstructions.
Dream killers
If you are afraid to stand out from the crowd with either your opinions or actions, are resistant to trying something new, have a consuming need for safety or an uncontrolled desire to spend, these above mentioned perspectives won’t allow you to break free from the mundane. If you allow Groupthink or peer pressure to manage your affairs, have a life filled with all the things you can’t do, and have a penchant for believing the negative news on TV and websites, you won’t find the motivation or energy to move towards a life of your own choosing. It will seem that everything is conspiring against you and holding you back.
Anger, jealousy and other self-limiting emotions won’t provide you with the ticket to your freedom. You have to break out and stand apart from those constricting and narrowing points of view.
Otherwise, your dream life will never happen.
The Motivators
As childlike or unsophisticated as it may sound to you, your passion for a dream and the persistence you apply to making that dream a reality is the fire that will get you there. Not everyone is born wealthy, has a top notch education, or a supportive family structure. How you apply yourself to your future makes all the difference in the world.
Couple this with knowing who you are and what matters to you. Being honest with yourself and with those whom you love and the willingness to learn from mistakes is invaluable. Use any miscalculations as stepping stones, not as reasons to hold you back or to never forgive yourself. If you feel that you have bungled something, make a new choice or an adjusted one and move in the direction where you want to go.
This way or that way?
With every decision there is a Y in the road. Take it! There is no wrong decision and if your choice does not pan out make another. Don’t be made powerless by indecision or the paralysis of analysis. Learn and move forward. Drop what doesn’t work – and move forward again.
Be open minded to options and opportunities that present themselves and be willing to try something new to make your plan come to fruition. Consider exotic combinations and out-of-the-box solutions to any challenge you might encounter. Let’s face it. Most people do what is expected of them and follow a bland plan. They are not used to considering a variety of aspects which can lead to novel ideas and creative solutions. And, I doubt they are reading our website and books.
Be YOU-nique. Utilize your personal creativity and hold the opinion that there is enough “ for you and for everyone. If you believe in limitation and lack, that will be what you look for, and we guarantee you will find exactly that.

Having a spouse or partner who is on the same goal-and-financial page as you are, is an invaluable asset.
