12 signs you’re addicted to social media

Social media is changing how many people communicate with each other and it has become part of your daily ritual,  like sleeping and eating. But how do we know when our action go from simple pleasure to an intrusion on your life?

  1. It is the first thing you do every morning. You do this even before getting out of bed, or kissed your loved one.
  2. You take and post photos of literally everything and everyone
  3. You think your friend is crazy if he or she does not have a social media account.
  4. You feel proud when that cute picture of yours get a hundred likes on Facebook
  5. You feel stressed for the entire day, if your ex-schoolmate, John does not respond to your friend request.
  6. You feel shocked when nobody comments on your “fun” updates in Facebook or Twitter.
  7. You spend at least 3 hours a day on social media, thereby isolating yourself away from social life.
  8. You procrastinate spending hours looking at nonsense (yes, those cats are so cute!)
  9. You wake up in the middle of the night to check your social media for updates and photos.
  10. If you’re ever by yourself, your first port of call is to quickly check Facebook.
  11. You’ve reached the bottom of the infinite scroll homepage more than once.
  12. Words like ‘Tweet’, Pinned’, ‘Updates’, ‘Hashtags’ suddenly has become part of you daily lingo.
