A SHARED STORY: YOUR PROSTATE BIOPSY SHOWS CANCER
WILLIAM HAMPTON
My PSA had in increased from 2.01 to 4.60.....the urologist prescribed Cipro, and said we'll do a PSA in two weeks. The next read was 5.1. The possibility was almost nil it was an infection. So a biopsy was scheduled. A week later my wife and I were walking in town, and my cell phone rang. I answered, and the DR. said "I'm sorry to tell you, your biopsy showed cancer in five cords"....he continued to speak for five more minutes, and I heard nothing. "Cancer? I'm a health nut !!! That can't be" I thought to myself. I was in shock....I couldn't even feel the pavement under my feet.....my wife was comforting me, still I couldn't think whatsoever. I called a friend, and he said come on over....we did, and he shared his experience with his prostate cancer. Feeling somewhat better, I scheduled an app't and decided on surgery for total removal. A Dr. friend of mine advised me to see a well known radiologist. We had the appointment and, decided on TOMO THERAPY . Nine weeks, and 45 treatments later, my PSA was 1.1 and has remained there. The Dr. is pleased, and so was I. No incontinence, and some erectile problem, and, that is improving monthly. I am blessed to have heard about Tomo Therapy. It's the way to go. It's been two years, and I feel GREAT !!! 72 and still jogging, golfing, lifting weights. By the way, My Geason score was seven.....
Please feel free to email me should you, or loved one be diagnosed....I will allay their fear....it is not a death sentence. You can email WHamp10@aol.com or call me....248.425.2810 God Bless all of you.....
