This week is not only about good food, (but it's high on the list! Ahhh Turkey!) It's about what we have to be thankful for. (did I mention Turkey?)
Take a couple minutes and really think about what you have to be thankful for.
Me:
1. I am not as bad off in the health department then the doctors first predicted. For me that means that the disease is not progressing as fast as they thought it would.
2. My Husband. Even though he's turning into a cantankerous old man, he's still my old man.
3. My girls. They are grown and gone, (well mostly). And have families of their own. It's nostalgic and heart-wrenching to watch them with "their" own families.
4. The healthiness of my husband, girls, and their families.
5. I am dirt- poor and live in a house that is almost 200 yrs old. It has collapsing walls, rooms, windows, ceilings, and roofs…and well, I'm happy that it doesn't leak in my bedroom….yet. And my husband is a little over half-way done with rebuilding the one wall that came down. (he has to re-lay the brick)
6. My dog. I finally have a dog that likes to be held and cuddled. And he loves me back just as fiercely as I love him. He's a beautiful black lab mix, who doesn't like cantankerous old men! LoL. And he has a bark that would do Marmaduke proud, but everything scares him…you know, like rustling plastic bags, rustling paper bags, the wind blowing and cantankerous old men!
7. My husband found a job after 2-1/2 yrs of being laid off.
8. With the help of my grandmother, we were able to get a decent used car for my oldest daughter. The miles I drive a week, went from (ave) 1000 a week to 220 a week.
9. And did I mention….TURKEY!!!
