A SHARED STORY: BORED TO TEARS

LEXI SARGENT

A Shared Story: Bored to TearsI cannot even imagine how peer pressure convinced me to retire after teaching 31 years in public schools.  Okay, so the live-aboard boat (5 years) on the Chesapeake, and the Tampa Bay area condo were sold and California became home two years ago mid-September.  I write this to see if any other retirees have had the same issue: Why did I retire?

Teachers are being laid off in droves, so there is no sense pursuing academia.  Politics is exciting until banging one's head against the wall seems to be absurd.
Gardening is great until the temps are triple digits and the tomato plants stop "speaking to me".
Taking the RV with the "kids" (cat and dog) was adventuresome until gas prices made extended trips unaffordable.

So, I shall continue to reinvent myself until fulfillment is achieved...
Look for me at karaoke and run like heck when you see that I have the mike is in my hands!!!
