wallabylass I'm so glad to have found this site! I want to go to college for social work. I had always want to go back for a nursing degree, but at 60 I think it would be hard physically!

DJHill I will be 58 this year and I am halfway through college, at sophomore level. I've met a few who are older than 60 who are taking college classes.

nfitzgerald Awesome! I just turned 57 I have always wanted my BA but raised my kids now raising grandchildren...but I slowly and surely am hanging in there be it only one class at a time. I have been a CNA for 13 yrs so I am going to find something still in the medical field. Knowledge is a key..

VIntageHippie I'm finishing my Masters in HIstory, so I"m there with you. My goal is to teach at our local community college and online. I hope to bring technology into the classroom more than they tend to do around here. I also plan to write about rural Appalachia in the first half of the 20th century.

DJHill I just joined and although I am new here, I am also seeking to finish college and earn a BA at the college I am attending. Also I will be 58 this year and want to say that you are never too old to try.

Micaela So great to hear of others working on degrees. I have wanted to go on to graduate school, but felt it was "too late" or "I was too old" , I am so encouraged by all of you! I am so glad I am seeing this through the eyes of people my age!! Kudos to you all!!

nfitzgerald I have a ways to go to get the degree I want. I have an AA and many units but I am now currently working on getting up there to my BA. I have been raising my 5 grandchildren - it's hard to not put oneself on the back burner ...anyways I am working on it

Sailinggirl49 Don't give up, it is hard with kids or grandkids to find time for yourself. However, it is worth it to keep working on it. Best of luck to you.

LovesToRead I’m also working on my masters after years away from school. This time it is a Masters of Fine Arts, for my satisfaction not to get a job like the first time. I’ve always enjoyed painting and photography so with my kids now in high school I figured it was time to do something for me. I have to say I’m loving it.

Jones1do Jones1do created the topic "Higher Education" with description "I am currently a graduate student obtaining a Masters of Education degree with a concentration in Adult Education. This is a growing field as the baby boomers reinvent themselves. As you know, our generation has a track record of paving the way for new thoughts and ideas. Beyond enrichment programs, are there others interested in higher education"?
