Almost60Really I have an iPad and love it. I'm able to do everything I do at home on my big iMac, and it beats carrying that heavy old blockbuster around on vacation. I can't recommend them highly enough. Although: I am considering getting the cheaper version of Kindle, for reading when it's bright outside. I read on long car trips, and if it's very bright out, sometimes the iPad is a bit difficult to see. On the other hand, I'm half-blind, literally, so I may not be the best judge! Best of luck with your choice. :D Paula

Terri I sort of got thrown into a notebook. I applied for the Google cr-48 test program and got chosen. I think they will start being sold in June. It is a neat little device and I already was familiar with the Chrome browser so that helped. It isn't a PC but has a lot of great features not found on similar devices.

dephillips Test Drive all makes and models. each have their unique positives and negatives. Select one which fits your needs. The price gap you will quickly forget if you end up with a product you find lacking the abilities you would prefer.

dephillips I received a Blackberry Playbook for business uses and find it is more powerful and faster than the IPAD along with I can run multiple applications and typical PC programs at one time. I will not be totally into these platforms until they fully integrate my cell ph. service to them. I will expect Microsoft to along with Nokia to apply the Skype service onto a tablet. Rest assured the devices we use today will be out of date in less than a few years. Competition at its finest.

Jo-Anne Tony, below says he bought an iPad that he likes. How about you, dephillips. Have you bought one (iPad or something else) - and what do you like about it?

Tony I bought an iPad about 4 months ago and think it works wells, it is easy to use, it is small so it is easy to carry around. For me it does what I want.

Sailinggirl49 I've been looking at iPad's also because several friends have them. I was happy to see how easy they are to use, and the touch pad was easy to type on. What I want to know is if anyone is using it to do word processing and how does it work in that area. I use Windows7 now and have never used a Apple Product. Does any one know if it works the same and how is it to use on the iPad?

Jo-Anne I just bought a Kindle - which is great - but my daughter told me that I made a mistake. She said that I should have gotten an iPad instead - because it has so much more functionality available with it. She has onoe - and absolutely loves it.
