AnnH Groovy Girl, How are you doing now? It has been over 6 months since you wrote about your experiences.

LovesToRead Groovy Girl, I’ve been through a mastectomy and reconstruction a couple of years ago and am doing well now. I just wanted to check on you and see how you are doing now.

NowAGrandma I’ve also have had a breast reduction a couple of years ago, from a DDD to a C! I’m glad I did it now, but it took awhile for the healing process in one of my breast. After I managed to get through the healing I was happy with the size; it made a real difference in clothes and how they look on me. It was so nice to purchase a top in a size 10 rather than a 14 just because of my chest. I will have to admit that there are some scars but it is not that bad, and having perky breast again is a real plus.

Sailinggirl49 I have a friend who had breast cancer. She was very well endowded. At the same time that she was having her mastectomy on one side, she had the remaining breast reduced. She then had reconstruction done to replace the missing breast. She was very-y-y happy with the reduction. Not so happy with the reconstruction.

GroovyGrl Well, I've heard people with false teeth say they feel like someone elses teeth are in their mouth. I know that's a wierd comparison, but that's how my boobs feel. I wish I had MY own boobs back!

izzie No, but I need one(reduction/lift)...DD's and then some. I have back problem that just will not stop even though I have been to a number of doctors(orthos). All the women in the family are extremely well endowed and we need help. My 16 year old niece who weighs 100 lbs. soaking wet has DD's and wants one also. Any suggestions? Experiences?

GroovyGrl I know a young woman that had a breast reduction because of bad back problems. You just have to emphasize to your Dr. how miserable you feel. That's what she did. Her insurance covered it too.

GroovyGrl I'm 61 & had a left breast masectomy. I had reconstructive surgery after 8 months with an expander to ready the area to create & new breast. They put in a permanent silicone implant and I had a right breast lift. I am on the mend as I speak. The 'lift'right side seems to be taking awfully long to heal. The surgeon says it is fine. I'm just concerned, sice it is an open wound under the nipple where it is stitched. It was a blood blister and now it is just very raw. I'm on antibiotics and use a antibiotic cream. It has been 3 weeks. I am hoping someone can identify with what I'm experiencing.......just to let me know it will get better. There are lots of web sites that you can get info about a breast lift/reduction.
