Dr. Alejandro Aldana holds three Medical Board certifications, including Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine, and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Aldana practices his medical specialty, general and interventional cardiology, as attending cardiologist in Birmingham, Alabama. His hospital affiliations include St. Vincent's Birmingham (AL); St. Vincent's St. Clair; and St. Vincent's East Hospital, where he is Director of the Congestive Heart Failure Committee, as well as Cardiology Preceptor for Family Practice Residents. He is also affiliated with the Alabama Cardiovascular Group of Birmingham (AL).
His professional affiliations include Fellow, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions; Fellow, American College of Cardiology; Member, American Society of Echocardiography; and Member, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
Dr. Aldana is a graduate of Javeriana University School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at St. Francis Hospital of Evanston, IL where he also completed his Cardiology Fellowship, serving as Chief Cardiology Fellow. He also served as Clinical Research Fellow in Echocardiography at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Aldana is married and is the proud father of three wonderful children. He is bi-lingual in both English and Spanish.
