Hair What Hair image
QUESTION:
When I turned 49, I began to experience thinning of my hair. It seems to have gotten worse with age. I have read that hormones could be a factor in this, but I have been checked for any imbalances, etc. and everything is normal. Do you have any suggestions such as supplements, etc. that could help me. I had a maternal grandmother who lost most all her hair, but we always contributed it to her medications and diabetes. Any suggestions for this problem would be greatly appreciated.

QUESTION:
Ever since I had my complete hysterectomy in 1997, at age 37 (am now 50) I've had many problems with vaginal dryness. I've not been on any type of hormone replacement therapy for about 10 years. About a year after my surgery I went through a complete surgical menopause, and my then GYN gave me the OK to stop taking hormones. But I was 40 then. My ex-husband and I had, for the first time, to use OTC lubricants. Then, after being divorced, the first time I had intercourse (3 years ago) nothing helped. Needless to say, more

Pain in the neck literally image
QUESTION:
I have a dull, constant pain in the back of my lower neck, in an area that my mother used to refer to as the "dowagers hump" I'm otherwise a healthy, almost 60 yr. old woman. I work 40 hrs/wk at a fairly stressful-sit-down-in-front-of-a-computer-job, but am a happy person and spend lots of time with my grandchildren. I don't exercise much, and am single. My question is: What causes constant pain in the "dowagers hump" area? I don't have rounded shoulders, or a humped back. Can my medication be more

MOM IS Salting her tea image
QUESTION:
I suspect there is something beginning to "go wrong" with my 87 year-old mother. We were in a restaurant last week and she started shaking salt into her tea cup. I took the salt shaker out of her hand, told her she was shaking salt into the tea and that she should not do that, and then I joking said that we needed to get her to the eye doctor. Two minutes passed and she again reached for the salt shaker and started "flavoring" the tea. I was stunned. How do we figure out what's wrong? more
