LOVE 'N LIFE: HER REGULATOR IS SHUT OFF

“OH CAROL:”

I have a woman friend who was married for a very long time when her husband filed for divorce.  She was stunned, but seemed to pick up the pieces and move on.  I’m concerned about her now though, because she is drinking frequently and a lot and when she does, it seems that her “regulator” shuts off.  She’ll take up with anyone she can grab onto - so she’s doing lots of one-night stands.  I don’t think this is good for her but I don’t know how I can bring her to her senses.  Your help is appreciated.
Her Regulator Is Shut Off

LOVE 'N LIFE: Her Regulator Is Shut OffLOVE ‘N LIFE’S “OH CAROL” ANSWERS:

Dear Her Regulator:

I will tell you right now, she did NOT pick up the pieces and move on. Why else would she be carrying on like that?

You are sweet to be concerned. She needs people to talk to and get her emotions to the surface. She is drowning herself in booze in an effort to douse the pain. Do you have any mutual female friends that can talk to her that have been through a hurt like that? You can help by sharing a man's perspective on drunk, loose women. DO it with love and caring. You might even want to tell her some stories that you've experienced or other men about women that behave that way.

First and foremost, she needs help. "When I was younger, so much younger than today..."

Let's not forget how dangerous her behavior is. Sexually transmitted diseases, crazy men who could beat her, steal from her and worse. Sit her down in a completely sober moment and talk to her. Don't wait!

Yours 4 Love,
Carol
