LOVE 'N LIFE: DECISIONS, DECISIONS...
“OH CAROL:”
I hear the first thing to do to find someone special is to figure out what really matters. I guess that's my problem. One day one thing matters, the next day it's something else. I just can't seem to decide. Even when I was married (I'm divorced) I kept thing that there was a better match out there. I'd really like to find the perfect one for me, so what should I do?
Decisions, Decisions...
LOVE ‘N LIFE’S “OH CAROL” ANSWERS:
Dear “Decisions:”
Well, what DOES matter to you? Could you be with someone who is on opposite ends of the political spectrum? A smoker? A drinker? Would it bother you if that person needs one night out a week...or a month to be with their friends? Do you want someone with a strong libido? Would you want someone that is experienced or inexperienced sexually? What about someone who travels? Would it matter if they were afraid to fly? Only you know your absolutes and your negotiables.
I have cats (although I am a dog person!) therefore, a person who is highly allergic to cats would not be a good match. That is an absolute for me. I am a non-smoker but my ex smoked. While I prefer a non-smoker, it is sort of a negotiable for me.
It sounds to me as if you don't trust yourself or your instincts thereby causing you to think someone better is around the corner. Learn to appreciate what you have and don't seek flaws. As Cheryl Crow sang, "It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you have."
Your 4 Love,
Carol
