7 Ways To Reclaim ‘Sexy” After 50

Sometimes, we can fell to be a woman over 50 is to feel invisible, feeling like people on the street are looking past you, as if you aren’t even there. We live in a culture that often equates beauty and energy with youth. But we’d like to turn that way of thinking on its head. We believe women can be smart and sassy, beautiful and confident, and that they can continue to shake things up in the world around them, whether they’re 50 or older.

Here are a few ways to add a little “sexy” into your day, especially for women over 50.

A new confidence

Confidence is sexy and women over 50 are often known for having high self-esteem and confidence. By the time we reach age 60, we have been fortunate to amass some significant life experience. In fact, many could care less about what people that don’t know them think about them. If you want to tap into your core of self-confidence, remind yourself of everything that you have learned in your life. Sexiness exudes from self confidence, smile and acceptance of yourself. Feeling sexy is not just about someone else thinking you are sexy. It’s about an inner confidence, how you carry yourself, and how you walk through every action of your day.

Put some pep in your step

A new study finds that people who imitate a happy style of walking, even without realizing it, find themselves feeling happier. Same applies to the way we feel about our bodies. So, shoulders back, swing those arms, and let’s see you bounce along. You’ll feel better, more positive and sexier instantly.

The art of flirting with intention

When a woman has mastered the playfulness of flirting she can command a room.  Let your eyes do your talking and do not forget to smile. Remember flirting is sexy and you must feel into it. The best part about flirting over 50 is that you can actually just flirt for the sake of flirting. Flirting is a great way to be reminded that you’ve still got it

Feeling sexy now is less about your body

The changes in your body can hit you all of a sudden. But sex is actually fun and that you shouldn’t worry about all the minutiae of what you look like. It has been an adjustment to be OK with the fact that my body may never be the same as it used to be. But I’m sort of over all that now.

Exercise and lift weights

When you lift weights you release endorphins that improve your mood, relieve pain and heighten pleasure. Testosterone is also released when you pump iron and increases your sex drive. Even doing moves like several sets of squats, push-ups, lunges and sprints will have you feeling sweaty and sexier asap. When you work out and are in shape, your endurance goes up and up and up. Instead of running out of breath in 10 minutes you can keep going and going and going and going.

Shake out your sexy outfits

You bought them because they made you feel good and sexy. The next time you have someplace to go, dig them out and put them on. A new lipstick is a quick, inexpensive way to enhance your natural beauty which makes you feel happier and sexier. Wear it with your new bra and panties. Clean out your intimates drawer. Is your sexy stuff buried somewhere under the stretched out faded panties that you pull out and put on day after day? Clean out that drawer! Wearing old bras and panties is a downer anytime but especially for women to feel sexy over 50.

Don’t neglect your hair

Hair is important, if you normally leave it up, let it down. If it is short, try changing the color. Change is good with your hair. A change, can be that added spice you are looking for.

In sum, are you sexy? The only one that can answer that is YOU. Accept that you are Over 50.  Accept your age, and know that your age is sexy. That is part of what makes you sexy.
